My Story

I began my career as a Leadership and Political Analyst for the Central Intelligence Agency, focusing on analysis of Saddam Hussein before and during the Iraq War.  I later served as an intelligence analyst providing intelligence support for information operations in Afghanistan and cyber defense.  I wrote or contributed to over 350 intelligence products for the President, NSC, DoD, CENTCOM, Congress, and senior Agency executives and collaborated with global intelligence community agencies.  I was recognized with several awards for exceptional performance in analysis, written publications, and briefings.

I transitioned my leadership and analysis skills into a successful career in Business Development and Administration.  I provided business and market intelligence analysis to defense contracting companies, enabling C-suite decision makers to better understand their pipelines of business and scope out new opportunities within the market.  I conducted in-depth analyses to compare mission requirements with the teams' capabilities, and then I developed training programs and live and online training courses to fill gaps in the team's skills.  I applied my organizational, writing, and graphics skills as a proposal manager, coordinator, writer, reviewer, and editor, helping my companies consistently hit their growth goals year over year.  I am a process and tool thinker.  I naturally see where processes can be improved and either develop new tools myself or evaluate and bring online new off-the-shelf tools to improve operational efficiency.  For example, I led the development of multiple database tools for storing, classifying, searching, retrieving, and analyzing critical data, including the Palantir and Salesforce applications.

Most recently, I was a founding member and Chief of Staff for a global infectious disease outbreak readiness and response company.  As Chief of Staff, I helped the company operate completely debt free with year over year increases in revenue and profit.  I managed all administrative, business development, financial, and contractual activities with the company's CEO and coordinated closely with the VP Operations on all operational planning. I helped ensure the team's adherence to timelines and budgets, maintained customer and employee relations, managed the staffing of qualified personnel, and oversaw the proper administration of grants and contracts.  My ability to sincerely connect with people led to the development of close relationships with our partners and customers, enabling our mission to establish a lasting and mutually beneficial presence wherever we work. I led company's business development, marketing, conference attendance, and proposal efforts, working closely with Operations and the company's Infectious Disease Scientific Advisory Board to identify opportunities, develop winning strategies, and compose compelling proposals and bid defenses.  Due to our team's selective bid strategies and my proposal leadership, we enjoyed an unprecedented 76% win rate on the proposals I managed.  I continue to be a part owner and Advisory Board member consulting on strategy and leading the company's proposal efforts.

My goal is to apply the array of skills and talents I've developed across multiple industries and roles over the last 20+ years to help promising, mission focused organizations make lasting improvements in people's lives.
